Capturing the Essence of Emergence
For me, every painting begins with a rush of excitement and the raw potential of a blank surface. I don't start with a rigid plan; instead, I begin with intuitive color and movement, letting the pigments lead the way.
As the layers build, I begin to "see" the story within the paint, eventually rendering shapes and forms out of the color. It is a process of discovery rather than a quest for perfection.
"I paint to find the light that lingers between the layers,
waiting for the moment a story begins to breathe."
waiting for the moment a story begins to breathe."
The Spirit of the Work
My journey has taken me from the deep, shadowed forests and winding rivers of Eastern Europe to the luminous, expansive shores of New Zealand. This transition has defined my palette—blending the soulful mood of the old world with the vibrant, atmospheric light of Aotearoa.
